Frequently asked questions
Answers to the most common questions about kits, testing, shipping, and results.
Is laboratory testing included when I buy a Collection Kit?
No. LabKits Collection Kits include the physical materials to collect samples. Laboratory testing is selected and purchased separately after you register your kit online. This lets you choose the analysis that best matches each sample.
How do I register my kit?
Every kit ships with a unique QR code and barcode. Scan the code with your phone, or enter the code manually at labkits.com/register. You'll be prompted to sign in or create an account before registering samples.
Can one kit contain multiple samples?
Yes. Each kit has a defined number of sample slots (for example, up to 10 samples for an Animal Hair kit). Each slot is registered separately and can be assigned to a different animal, property, water source, or field.
Which laboratories does LabKits work with?
LabKits.com is a multi-laboratory marketplace. Only laboratories and services compatible with your specific sample and location are shown at checkout. New laboratories are added regularly.
How do I get my results?
When the laboratory releases your result, you'll receive an email notification. Results appear in your dashboard as an official laboratory PDF along with structured data. You can download, share, and revoke access at any time.
Can I share results with my veterinarian or an association?
Yes. Results can be shared via secure, revocable links with optional expiration and password protection. Recipients see only the approved information on a verification page.
What if a sample is damaged or the lab needs recollection?
If the laboratory reports an insufficient or damaged sample, we notify you immediately. Depending on the situation, we can arrange a recollection or replacement — no duplicate charges.
